Law of Attraction
Those who are familiar with The Secret know that it has to do with something called the Law of Attraction (LOA), which very simply put is; Like attracts like, or What you think about, you bring about. Of the thousands of people who claim to have positively changed their lives via LOA, you will find those who state that it was already an “instinctive” knowledge prior to discovering it was actually a long held, yet little known, theory. And then of course, there are those who have had none of the aforementioned experiences. Does the Law of Attraction truly exist, or is it merely the power of suggestion and coincidence?
There are varying explanations or circumstances for the diverse experiences of those exploring LOA; Lack of belief, synchronicity, self-sabotage, coincidence, misperception, psychosomatic illness, serendipity, etc… Indeed, it is certainly much easier to accept one or all of the labels above, than to believe the “Universe” is actually being effected by one’s thoughts. Surely, commonsense leads us to believe otherwise. It all seemed like laughable science fiction nonsense to me, but Harvard University graduate Gary Zukav made it quite clear that quantum mechanical phenomenon (attributed to LOA) often contradicts commonsense.
In his American Book Award winning work: The Dancing Wu Li Masters, Mr. Zukav states:
“Commonsense contradictions…are at the heart of the new physics…They tell us again and again that the world may not be what we think it is. It may be much, much more.” But how does this support the notion that we can influence our reality or the Universe, with our thoughts? So I began to dig a little and discovered that there is certainly more than anecdotal evidence to support such an outrageous claim. The “digging” began when I ordered a certain book online and it came with a free gift book: Thought Vibration-The Secret of Success- Thought Force, a work of three books in one binding, by William Walker Atkinson published in 1906. This incident of serendipity provided my first true introduction to the effects of the mind and the first time I heard of the “Law of Thought Attraction”. But it was Excuse Me, Your Life is Waiting by Lynn Grabhorn that presented the Law of Attraction in a more casual writing style.
Get compensation from the truck company
Most of the trucks are owned by truck companies that employ drivers to serve their purpose of driving trucks. To save on costs, most of the truck companies employ inexperienced drivers so that they can pay them less. This causes most of the trucking accidents that take place in the United States. The inexperienced drivers drive rashly without following or obeying the traffic rules and speeding.
Another cause of truck accidents is the low maintenance of the trucks. The truck companies spend less than one tenth per truck than what they should actually pay for the truck maintenance. This causes fault or in the machinery or electrical parts and cause dreadful accidents. Though most of the times truck driver or the truck company is responsible for the accident yet it is very hard to get compensation from them. It takes years for the victim to get justice and claim which break him physically, emotionally and financially. The truck companies are least bothered and within a few days/weeks the truck is back on the road due to the loopholes in the judiciary or the weakness of the lawsuit against it.
It is therefore very important that the lawsuit is filed with lot of deliberation by good truck accident lawyers to get the best compensation. A personal injury lawyer will also be helpful if you have received bodily injury that you want to be compensated. A third party victim who is injured due to collision between truck and any other vehicle can also claim compensation from the truck company if he hires a good personal injury attorney.

Twitter Tips – 7 Reasons For Law Firms to Use Twitter
There have been many discussions concerning whether Twitter is an appropriate social media tool for law firms. I say YES…
loudly. Twitter is an excellent tool for law firms to expand their reach and share their firm culture. It is also a great way for law firms to further develop and communicate a bit of their firm’s personality with the market.
Successful businesses know clients invest with those they know, like and true; this basic business principle is also true for law firms.
In fact, law firms can benefit from “digital word of month” referrals and recommendations based on this solid business principle by using Twitter to:
- Share updates about pro bono wins;
- Share information about community involvement;
- Share attorney awards and recognitions;
- Share the accolades for firm clients;
- Syndicate legal alerts and other informational briefs by firm attorneys;
- Provide current legal information (not advice) about issues facing the firm’s target audience; and
- Provide commentary about recent legal happenings.
When starting with Twitter I often advise clients to:
- Designate an attorney and marketing professional to become the firm’s chief Tweeters;
- Establish a Twitter account to find legal professionals to follow;
- Observer Twitter conversations of those key people you follow to learn about Twitter’s culture; and then
- Start sharing information and engaging others.
Twitter is a powerful magnetic branding tool that law firms can utilize to attract media attention and drive traffic to their blawg or website. In addition, Tweets are indexed by Google, providing an added benefit for using this tool to expand reach and increase visibility.
Starting a New Life in France
Moving to France
France is one of the power houses of the European Union and has attracted much interest from foreign residents looking to relocate overseas. The country itself has a style and look all of its own, and is often mentioned in the same breath as Italy as a popular country for romantic breaks.There is however a lot to France behind the scenes, with culture, art and architecture once again coming to the fore. This country certainly has a lot to offer both in terms of employment and everyday life and a deeply engrained freedom of speech which forms the basis of French law and culture. These are some of the reasons that the Expat community living in France grows every day.
French Culture
France is one of the true metropolitan countries of the world, taking in a variety of different cultures – which has in the past resulted in a number of internal disputes. The country is heavily localised with certain elements of religion and culture prevalent in different areas.The country is well known for its love of the arts and architecture and has a long and great history, taking in revolutions, wars and major changes in the way that the country is run. An over ruling right to freedom of speech has attracted a number of out spoken and controversial figures to the political arena, with all areas of society under discussion.
Employment in France
France has for many years been a hive of private enterprise with over 2.5 million companies registered in the country. However, the government still maintain a stranglehold on the major industries including defence, transport and insurance and banking although slowly but surely they are loosening their grip.The working arena is still suffering from the days of massive unemployment over 30 years ago, and France has the lowest percentage of 15 – 64 year olds in work, throughout the developed world. While this is slowly improving there is still a long way to go to compete with the likes of the US, UK and Japan. However, this has left a gap in the market for foreign nationals actively looking for employment, and the fact that French students continue their education for longer than their European counterparts is also of assistance.Unfortunately the tax situation in France is a lot harsher than other European counterparts, with up to 60% of gross pay being diverted into the French State Benefit system. It is a requirement of French law that either you or your employer register you with the authorities as an official worker in France – failure to comply with the regulations can lead to grave consequences for your move and residency in France.
French Property
The housing market in France has historically been a lot steadier than for example the UK market (and many other European partners). The last decade has seen a large number of European residence relocating to France where property prices are on average substantially lower.
